Southern Colorado Emergency Medicine Associates (SCEMA) is an independent, democratic group of Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians serving the southern Front Range of Colorado. Our mission is to strengthen the integrity of the physician-patient relationship through high-quality, compassionate care. We partner with the UCHealth Parkview Hospital System to provide care for the region’s more than 200,000 inhabitants. Our physicians live and work along Colorado’s Front Range, boasting its breath-taking peaks, iconic four seasons, and affordable living.
Since its founding in 1980, SCEMA has been a bellwether of Colorado. We believe that physicians who independently own and operate their organizations are better able to serve patients’ needs and our tenure of more than 30 years proves that. We care deeply for the communities in which we practice, and have been a steadfast presence for our patients through the most challenging times in medicine. Caring for both children and adults, we provide the highest level of service for the broad set of emergency conditions that may challenge our population.

Who We Are
We are a diverse group of dedicated physicians who love the community we serve. We maintain integral positions in hospital administration by serving on committees and holding various leadership roles at Parkview as well as in the community. As a team, SCEMA maintains strong relationships with hospital leadership and support staff in order to ensure our patients are well cared for.
Where We Live
The majority of our physicians live in nearby Colorado Springs. “The Springs” is a medium-sized city with stunning views of the Colorado Front Range. This city provides easy access to not only beautiful hiking and mountain biking but also Colorado’s premier ski resorts. An easy, open 35-40 minute drive lands you at the door of our main work site, Parkview Medical Center.
The remainder of our doctors live in Pueblo and surrounding counties. The town of Pueblo offers the best green chile in the region. It is also close to the Arkansas river and nearby Royal Gorge, which has great fishing and river activities.
All of our communities pour down 250 days of sunshine a year along with all the outdoor fun that four beautiful seasons have to offer.
Where We're From
Our physicians hail from all over the US. We have also trained in equally diverse geographies including Chicago, Indianapolis, Southern California, Louisiana, New Mexico, Kansas, Michigan, Texas, Virginia, and Ohio.
